Despair in the air....

SAN FRANCISCO | CA

This was a very intense evening. I was walking to catch the 800 bus to the east bay and seen this man in the middle of the street. My first instinct was to take a photo thinking he would get up in a second. He didn’t. Cars started zooming past him honking and swerving. So I started over to him yelling, “ hey man get up!” “It’s never so bad where you need to do this!” But when I got close to him a saw that he was sobbing uncontrollably. Face full of dirt, snot and tears. I grabbed his arm and pulled him up and to the curb. “What happened my friend, what’s wrong?” He just started screaming and flailing around and ran down the street. I just stood and watch him take off down market street not sure of what to do. I looked up to the sky, took a deep breath and kept walking to my bus. Another San Francisco night....
